NEET SS Counselling 2025: Short Information
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has begun the counselling process for NEET SS 2025. Candidates must complete the registration process, participate in choice filling, and follow the seat allotment schedule to secure admission in super specialty medical programs.
The counselling will be conducted centrally by MCC, and candidates must carefully follow the deadlines and rules related to seat allotment, upgradation, and reporting.

Seat Matrix Details
Before the choice filling process, MCC will publish the final seat matrix for NEET SS counselling.
The seat matrix will include:
- Government medical colleges
- Private medical colleges
- Deemed universities
- DrNB seats provided by the National Board
Earlier seat matrix data showed that some institutes were missing, but the final seat matrix released by MCC will contain the complete list of seats available for counselling.
Registration Fee
Candidates must pay a security deposit during registration to participate in counselling.

Eligibility Criteria

- The cut-off date for completing MD/MS qualification is 31 January
Candidates who have not completed their qualifying degree by the cut-off date of 31 January will not be eligible for counselling.

Candidates must carry the following documents while reporting to the allotted college:

- NEET SS Score Card
- Allotment Letter issued by MCC
- MBBS Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate

No documents are required to be uploaded during the initial registration stage, except bank account proof for refund purposes.
NEET SS Counselling Process
The counselling process includes several stages:
1. Registration
Candidates must complete online registration through the MCC counselling portal before 15 March 2025.
2. Choice Filling
After the seat matrix is published, candidates can select their preferred colleges and courses during the choice filling window.
It is recommended to conduct proper research on seat availability, stipend, bond conditions, and college preferences before submitting choices.
3. Seat Allotment
Based on:

- Seat availability
MCC will release the Round 1 seat allotment result on 17 or 18 March 2025.
4. Reporting to College
Candidates who receive a seat in Round 1 must report to their allotted institute between 19 March and 25 March 2025.
Upgradation Rules
The counselling process allows seat upgradation in the second round.
Key rules include:
- Candidates who accept a seat in Round 1 can participate in Round 2 for upgradation.
- If a seat is upgraded in Round 2, the candidate must join the upgraded institute.
- Once upgraded, the previous seat is automatically cancelled.
Exit Rules and Penalty
The counselling process has strict rules regarding seat acceptance.
Round 1
- There is no free exit in Round 1.
- If a candidate is allotted a seat but fails to join, the ₹2,05,000 security deposit will be forfeited.
Round 2
- If a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 2 and does not join, the security deposit will also be forfeited.
Third Round / Stray Vacancy Round
Many candidates are concerned about the third round of counselling.
Currently, only the first two rounds schedule has been released. However, the third round (stray vacancy round) is expected to be announced later.
The third round will be conducted after cut-off revision, which may allow more candidates to participate.
Eligibility for the third round:
- Candidates not holding any seat from Round 1 or Round 2
- Candidates whose seats were cancelled after non-reporting
Candidates must pay the security deposit again to participate in the third round.
NEET SS Session Start Date
The academic session for NEET SS 2025 admissions will begin on:
10 April 2025
Candidates cannot officially join the course before this date, although reporting and admission procedures may be completed earlier.
